Join us for a 6 day overnight trekking adventure through the wild Orangutan territory of Gunung Leuser National Park. Inclusive of 3 nights hotel accommodation in Bukit Lawang to relax before and after the trek and a short practice trek to visit the semi wild rehabilitated Orangutans at the Bukit Lawang feeding platform.
Whist trekking learn key jungle skills such as building fires and camps, finding and cooking jungle vegetables, fishing for dinner and finding and preparing jungle medicine.
The Sumatran rain forest is host to a multitude of species, including Sumatran Orangutan, Sumatran Tiger, Sumatran Rhinoceros, Sumatran Elephant, Sumatran Striped Rabbit, Malayan Tapir, Malayan Sun Bear, Bornean Clouded Leopard and many birds and butterflies. Of the 10,000 plant species recorded in the West Indo-Malayan region, it is estimated that 45% are found in the Gunung Leuser ecosystem. It is also home to Sumatran Pine, Rafflesia arnoldii (world’s largest individual flower), Titan arum (world’s tallest and largest inflorescence flower)
This expedition lasts for 9 days, but we can offer more activities such as Elephant Riding in Tangakahan Gunung Leuser National park, Whitewater rafting and overland tours to Berastagi volacano and Lake Toba if you have more time to experience the many highlights Sumatra has to offer

Day 01: Medan Airport – Bohorok (D)
Upon arrival at Polonia Airport (Medan-North Sumatera) meet and greet by you guide. Directly depart for Bohorok, located at southern part of Gunung Leuser National Park). Drive for about 4 hours on bumpy road from Medan, capital of North Sumatra, to see Orangutan Rehabilitation Center at Bukit Lawang at Bohorok Village where this primate is trained to return to the natural habitat. En-route passing through several small towns followed by vast view of rubber and oil palm plantation and some countryside landscapes. Check in at Bukit Lawang Eco Lodge for accommodation (Non-star hotel).
Day 02 : Bukit Lawang Orang Utan (BLD)
After breakfast, walk along the river bank and then cross the river by small canoe to the Orangutan Rehabilitation Center. Walk around the hill through the rain forest for about 8 hours to see the activity of those ex-illegally captured and the young Orangutans are trained to rehabilitate for back to nature.
After lunch , Then walk to Jamur Batu the camp site in the Leuser national Park. If you are lucky, en route you may see the orang Utan, gibbon , long tail maqaq and horn bill. Dinner and accommodation in the camp site Jamur Batu.
Day 03 : Jungle Treking (B,L,D).
After breakfast , continue trekking to the jungle for about 6 hours trek To Batu gajah camp site, enroute you if you are lucky , you may see orang Utan with its nest, wild fig , and the other wild life. Lunch enroute. Dinner and Accomodation at Batu Gajah Camp site.
Day 04 : Jungle Treking (B,L,D).
Breakfast at the camping site, after breakfast continue trekking to the jungle for about 6 hours to the pasir tengah camp site, Lunch enroute, after lunch continue trekking , enroute together with your local guide , look for the vegetable from the jungle and fishing in the river . Dinner and Accomodation at Pasir tengah camping site .
Day 05 : Jungle Treking (B,L,D).
Breakfast at the camping site, after breakfast continue trekking to the jungle for about 5 hours to camp Uning. To day you will walk through up stream of Bahorok river. Along the way you may see a nice fiew of two beutiful jungle . some of wild animal such as hornbill , deer , eguana you may see enroute. After lunch your local guide will guide you how to cach fish without fishhook and net in the river. Accomodation and dinner at Uning Camp site.
Day 06 : Jungle Treking (B,L,D).
Breakfast at the camping site, to day you don’t move to the other camp site, after breakfast ovserve the souronding jungle, Full day ovserve the wildlife in the jungle. This area is the place for the wild animal for drink and here You may see , deer , wild fig, elephant , wild orang Utan and even the tiger ( If You are Lucky). After lunch look for the herb for local meditation.
Day 07 : Jungle Treking (B,L,D).
Breakfast at the camping site, after breakfast continue trekking to the jungle for about 5 hours to camp Alor Perak . enroute you may see the other wild animal, lunch enroute. After lunch look for the vegetable for you dinner , defrent with the other day.
Day 08 : Jungle Treking – Eco Lodge (B,L,D).
Breakfast at the camping site, after breakfast continue trekking for a few hours , and contine Tubing to the hotel. Accomodation and dinner at Hotel.( Eco Lodge ).
Day 09 : Bukit Lawang – Medan (B ).
Breakfast at the Lodge, Affter brekfast drive back to Medan transfer to airport or Hotel in Medan.

Important Note:
