Since October – December 14, 2011 increased volcanic activity G. Ijen volcanic activity is characterized by an increase in both visually, the amount per month Volcanic Earthquake In (VA), Shallow volcanic (VB) and the Earthquake Tremor shots. From 5 – December 14, 2011 increased volcanic activity was followed also by indicating the Harmonic Tremor Earthquake activity beneath the surface near the crater lake has intensified. In the period 15 – December 17, 2011 there has been a significant increase in activity is characterized by a sharp spike in the number of Volcanic Earthquakes and Volcanic Earthquake In Shallow and followed also by the strengthening of SO2 gas around the crater lake G. Ijen

Based on the results of seismic observations, visual and crater lake water temperature as well as the analysis of these data, the status of activities at the Ijen Crater raise its status from Normal (Level I) to be alert (Level II) starting on December 15, 2011, at 1:00 pm.

and Now Kawah Ijen is Close for any activity for sulfur mines and Tourist visitor..

On December 10, 2011  our guide still have a guest for trip to Kawah Ijen, he report to us is “just 4 days before the alerts, i visit ijen.. i saw a bit colour difference on the lake, it’s more green than usual.”    and Last report is Kawah Ijen Crater already produce of Black Smoke on December 22,2011

Update:
On Feb 8,2012. Vulcanology Survey of Indonesia report status from Level III (Standby) to level 11 (alert)

On March 12,2012 VSI Change status from Level II to Level III

Type of Volcanoes Status in Indonesia

Level 1 = Aktif Normal  (Green)
Monitoring of visual, seismicity and other volcanic event do not indicate changes.     No eruption in foreseeable future.
Level 2 = Waspada  (Yellow)
Increasing activity of seismicity and other volcanic events, and visual changes around the crater.     Magmatic, tectonic or hydrothermal disturbance, no eruption imminent.
Level 3 = Siaga  (Orange)
Intensively increasing of seismicity with supported by other volcanic monitoring, obvious changes of visual observation and crater. based on observation data analysis, the activity will be followed by main eruption.     If trend of increasing unrest continues, eruption possible within 2 weeks.
Level 4 = Awas (Red)
Following the main eruption, the initial eruption begin to occur as ash and vapor. Based on observation data analysis, the activity will be followed by main eruption.     Eruption possible within 24 hours.

Another Volcano on Going Eruption is Mount Gamalama location in Ternate Island, Indonesia

Mount Gamalama in Ternate, North Maluku Sunday (18/12), still show volcanic activity. The volcano is still spitting out thick white smoke as high as 50 -100 meters, and level III status is still idle.

Although already started to show decline in activity, but data on the post seismograph monitors earthquake tremor was recorded continuously with an amplitude of 0.5 to one millimeter. In addition there are earthquakes gust 15 times since 0:00 until 6:00 pm CDT by between 15-85 seconds long.

At about 06:00 until 10:00 CET, the peak observed visually crater belching white smoke as high as between 50-100 meters thick.
