Mount Lokon, together with Mount Empung, is a twin volcano (2.2 km/1.4 mi apart) in the northern Sulawesi, Indonesia, roughly 10 km (6 mi) south of Manado. Both rise above the Tondano plain and are among active volcanoes of Sulawesi. Mount Lokon has a flat and craterless top

Mount Mahawu is a stratovolcano located immediately east from Lokon-Empung volcano in North Sulawesi, Indonesia. The volcano is capped with 180 m wide and 140 m deep crater with two pyroclastic cones in the northern flanks. A small explosive eruption was recorded in 1789. In 1994, fumaroles, mudpots and small geysers actitivies were observed along the greenish shore of a crater lake

Soputan Volcano is a stratovolcano in the northern arm of the island of Sulawesi, Indonesia. It sits on the southern rim of the Tondano caldera, constructed in the Quaternary period, and is one of the most active volcanoes in Sulawesi.
In 2004, it erupted with lava oozing down its southwest slope. No fatalities were recorded. On the morning of 6 June 2008, it erupted sending heat clouds of debris as far as 4 km down its slopes, and ash 2 km into the air. It erupted again at 21:03 UTC on 2 July 2011 spewing ash and smoke 5,000 metres into the air, and 2011 is On Going Eruption

Ambang Volcano is a complex of volcanoes at the western of the northern arm of Sulawesi island, Indonesia. There are two lakes, lake Mo’oat and lake Tondok (Danau Mo’oat and danau Tondok), at an elevation of 750 m. The larger of the two lakes is Mo’oat. Both of them are side by side. The volcano contains several craters up to 400 m in diameter and five solfatara fields The only historical account of its eruption occurred somewhere in 1850s.

Karangetang Volcano (also known as Api Siau) is a volcano located on the north side of Siau Island in Indonesia. The island is inhabited by 22,000 people.It is one of the most active volcanoes in Indonesia having erupted forty-one times since 1675. A pyroclastic flow in 1997 killed three people.
Current activity

In August 2007 an eruptive episode forced evacuations from nearby areas.
On 9 June 2009 the Volcanological Survey of Indonesia raised the eruption alert status of Karangetang to Level Orange.
On 6 August 2010 Karangetang again erupted, spewing lava and ash hundreds of meters into the air. Four villagers are missing.
On 11 March 2011, a few hours after an earthquake in Japan caused a Pacific-wide tsunami, Mount Karangetang again erupted. There were no reports of serious damage or deaths, though lava and hot gas clouds were emitted onto its slopes.

PROGRAM 9 days Volcanoes Explorer

Grade: Easy – Moderate

Day 01 : MANADO ARRIVAL – TOMOHON
Arrive in Manado, we take you directly to flower city, Tomohon. Overnight at Hotel/Eco Resort

Mount Lokon Volcano

Day 02 : LOKON AND MAHAWU VOLCANO TREKKING
after breakfast from the resort, we trek to Lokon volcano of 1580m. It takes about 4 hours trekking to reach the edge of the crater and back to starting point. continue drive to Rurukan village. Rurukan is famous for its vegetables yield of Minahasa. Start from Rurukan we trek to Mahawu crater. From Mahawu we drive back to Hotel.

Day 03 : TOMOHON – TOURE – SOPUTAN VOLCANO
After breakfast we will continue to Climb Mount Soputan Volcano. Overnight at Tent

Mount Soputan Volcano at Oct 26,2012

Day 04 : BASE CAMP – SOPUTAN PEAK – WINORANGIAN – TOMBATU
We start the trek to Soputan peak of 1.784m then continue to Trek Back to Village, From the top we will trek down trough the valley of Manimpotrok and direct trough the narrow trail to Winorangian Village. by Car drive to Tombatu Village for Overnight.

Day 05 : FREE Program Bunaken
Free Program at Bunaken National Park by Boat (optional)

Day 06 SAIL TO SIAU ISLAND
Sail to Siau Island by Public Speed Boat take 3 hours, arrive in Siau, overnight at Tent

Karangetang Volcano

Day O7 :CLIMB KRANGETANG VOLCANO
Full Days Explore and Climb Karangetang Volcano, at Night we will looking good Location for Volcano Night Photograpy. overnight at Tent

Day 08 : EXTRA DAYS EXPLORE MT KARANGETANG VOLCANO
Extra days for observations of Karangetang, If Karangetang is active, we could plan two full days to observe its activity from as close as safely location area of Mount Karangetang

Day 09: SAIL TO MENADO
Depending on the boat schedules, we sail back to Manado,  and Overnight At Hotel or Direct Flight to your Next Destination.

End Trip

Note: Possible to customize to explore Mt Gamalama, Mt Ibu volcano and Mount Dukono Volcano at Halmahera island.
